WE start this column on a sad note dahil we learned from JP Obligacion, apo ng dating komedyante ng LVN Pictures na si Oscar Obligacion, that his lolo underwent dialysis and is fighting for his life at the ICU of the Medical City as of last night.

Oscar is in his mid-80s. Pero when he was in good health (or so he looked), he still attended parties with wife Myrna organized by the oldtimers ng LVN Pictures, tulad nina Delia Razon (lola ng baguhang si Carla Abellana), Luz Valdez at Perla Bautista, among others.

His movie name was Armando Goyena and he was a contract actor of LVN Pictures, Inc. He was the son of Jose Revilla Sr. and Florentina Goyena and his real name was Jose Goyena Revilla, Jr. He was born on the seventh day of December in the year 1922.

He studied at the then De La Salle College and finished a degree in Commerce. During the postwar years, he became a member of an acting troupe who performed for military veterans under the directorial tutelage of playwright Wilfredo Ma. Guerrero.

The way I look at the studio mukhang hindi naman yata same studio ‘yung gamit ng dalawang shows na parehong “trying hard copycats” lang ng “Eat Bulaga” naman!

Look into his eyes and you can see eternity. In my many years of different encounters with local filipino celebrities, it’s so seldom that I see a person whose soul is so magnificent and ambivalent. The aura that exudes this man is so warm and gentle, almost embracing. In his eyes, you would feel a man who’s got something within , something  so hard to describe as a feeling… but the look in his eyes magnetizes , and it is as if you would want to love him forever because in his eyes  you  see a little child, longing for love,  needing  attention,  and in search  for the perfect kind of ART.

“Hillary Clinton: The Manila Forum An ABS-CBN Exclusive” will air tomorrow, Friday (Nov 13), live on ANC (SKYCABLE ch. 27) at 8:00 a.m. and on ABS-CBN channel 2 at 9:00 a.m.

 

This will mark the first time on Philippine TV history that a secretary of state will be holding a televised public forum.
